Site Servicing Completion and Weather Monitoring March 20, 2024

The Paramount Service teams throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown were monitoring a streamer that came through with scattered flurries that started around 5am throughout these regions during the early morning hours of March 20, 2024.  Reports received we had seen anything from a trace of snowfall to a centimeter of snow depending on region which began as of 5am, with the snow tapering off around 9am.  Our snow management teams called in staff to start a full salt service run of all properties throughout the regions as of 9am, this salt service run is being performed to help combat the snow that has fallen as well to help combat any slippery areas.  Our teams all started their salt service run as of 9am with an and completed as of 2pm on March 20, 2024.  Our snow management staff will continue to monitor the weather during the evening and overnight hours of March 20 into March 21, 2024 as there is a potential for less than a centimeter of scattered flurries that continued on throughout the day and are forecasted until around 7pm with temperatures below freezing.  Environment Canada has posted a Weather Advisory also for these regions:

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect.

Hazards:
Very poor visibility in brief bursts of heavy snow and blowing snow.
Quick snowfall accumulations of 2 to 4 cm.

Timing:
This afternoon and ending by early evening.

Discussion:
A sharp cold front is moving south through the area this afternoon. Narrow bands of heavy flurries combined with gusty northwest winds associated with the front will lead to relatively short but sudden drops in visibility. The front and associated bands of heavy snow are expected to clear the region later in the afternoon or early evening.

All teams remain on standby and will be called in should further servicing be required if the weather should change.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates.
