The Paramount Service teams throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown teams started their routes as of 4am, once all teams had eyes on sites we received reports that most sites had received around 1 to 1.5cm of snowfall but that was starting to crystalize and ice up. Our teams performed a full salt service run on all sites and plowed some sites where the accumulation was a little more. Our routes were completed as of 9am on January 2nd, 2022 and once we completed all routes another band of snow came through which dropped another couple of centimeters of snow fall throughout these regions. Our teams are going to re-convene as of 12pm on January 2 and re-asses all sites, at this time we anticipate another salt run will have to be performed in the early afternoon. The 2nd salt run being performed in these areas is to help combat the snow that fell as well to help sites from freezing as the temperatures tonight are going down to -12°C. We will update once the teams meet and decide what service level is required for the rest of today.
