Winter Storm Watch March 3rd – 4th, 2023

6

Partly Cloudy

On Time

The Paramount Service teams throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown have been monitoring the upcoming storm set to arrive around 3pm Friday March 3rd ending around 8am on March 4th. The storm will bring 20-25 cm across the GTA with up to 30cm in some areas in the hardest hit regions. Our plan as of today is to wait until after rush hour (7pm) to start servicing all sites which will set us up for an overnight secondary plow and touch up and finishing with a salt run Saturday afternoon. Please note, with this magnitude of storm that is forecasted throughout all regions across the GTA it will be a long shift for our staff and can take up to 24 hours as per the contract for properties to be fully cleared. Our estimated time of service will be between 12pm to 2pm on Saturday March 4th, this will be roughly an 20+-hour shift for our teams. The late afternoon/ evening hours will be extremely hard to navigate through during these hours as the snow is slated to fall at 4cm an hour for 8 hours between 5pm and 11pm. This is very hard to see let alone to drive in which will slow our teams down tremendously.

If you have the capability to stay indoors throughout the storm including into Saturday morning as city plows will also be out clearing city roads and side streets during the morning on March 4th it would be a good idea. When our teams start their routes at 7pm, they will be visiting senior’s homes, medical settings, and open businesses first. Once these are complete, they will be then focused on condos and businesses that have regular hours, finishing with any residential properties. We are hoping to be through our first run by early morning on the 4th, our second run by mid-morning and then into salting.

Environment Canada is stating that visibility could be significantly reduced due to heavy snow and blowing snow, plan your trip and your safety accordingly.

We will be updating the snowline throughout the day tomorrow to keep you up to date on any future developments.

Once again the best method of communication regarding this storm is through our snowline at 855-906-0279 x 1 or snowline@paramountlandscaping.ca, our regular staff emails are not monitored throughout weather episodes as the teams are working diligently . Our teams will be battling this very large storm as best as we can as well in a safe manner. Thank you in advance for your patience and please be safe!
