Winter Storm Salt Service Update December 15, 2022

Rain

On Time

The Paramount Service teams throughout Milton and Waterdown started a salt service run as of 1pm on December 15, 2022, these runs were completed by 4pm on December 15. Within these regions we started seeing some freezing rain as of 8am on December 15th and started to get mixed precipitation around 11am. We will continue to monitor this weather system within Burlington and Oakville, these service regions are seeing mainly rain. As of 6pm the sites have been checked and within these regions we have been seeing a lot of rain fall and temperatures are remaining above freezing. There is a potential for the forecast to remain to see approximately up to 5cm of snowfall with 1-3mm of rain. At this point of time with monitoring the system. All teams remain on standby and will be called in should it be required. Temperatures during this weather system are forecasted to be around 1 to 2°C. We will update this site throughout the system should anything change.

Light Rain

The Paramount Service teams throughout Hamilton, Stoney Creek and Brantford are continuing to monitor all sites and as of 11am no servicing has been required within these regions.

** UPDATE – Sites within Brantford received a full salt service run as of 4pm on December 15th, 2022 and were completed the salt service run as of 6pm.  All sites within Brantford were serviced as we had received some reports of slippery areas.  This salt run will help combat any slippery areas that may arise during this system.  The temperatures are forecasted to remain above the freezing mark throughout the evening and overnight hours.  Our teams will continue to monitor this weather system as there is a potential for another centimeter of snowfall with 1-3mm of rain.  All teams for Brantford remain on standby.

Within Hamilton, Stoney Creek these service areas have been monitored throughout and no servicing has been required as these sites have seen mainly rain throughout the system.  Our teams will continue to monitor these sites and will service when and where required.  Hamilton is forecasted for a potential 2-4cm of snow with 1-3mm of rain throughout the overnight and early morning hours of December 16.  Please check back to this site for future service levels for these regions.

Snow

The Paramount Service teams throughout Guelph started a salt service run of all properties within this region as of 11am. Within this region we started getting reports of the areas being very slippery due to the freezing rain. This salt run was called to help combat the slippery areas from the freezing rain as well the mixed precipitation that is continuing as well. The service teams for Guelph completed their run as of 2pm on December 15. Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge started a salt service run as of 1pm on December 15, 2022 and completed their runs as of 7:15pm. Cambridge began their routes as of 1pm and completed their run as of 6:15pm. Our teams will continue to monitor this weather system that is forecasted for all regions throughout the GTA. Guelph could potentially see another 3cm of snowfall until around 7am on December 16, 2022. The forecast is showing that Kitchener could potentially see another 2cm, 2.5cm and for Cambridge possible for close to 2cm until around 7am on December 16. At this point of time with monitoring the system, with the 2nd salt run performed in all areas we will continue to monitor the sites and will perform another salt service run if necessary to help combat any snow that may fall. Temperatures during this weather system are forecasted hovering around 0°. We will update this site throughout the system should anything change.

The Paramount Service teams throughout Toronto, Scarborough and Markham are continuing to monitor all sites and as of 11am no servicing has been required within these regions.  We will continue to monitor this weather system that is forecasted for all regions throughout the GTA to begin December 15th, 2022.  We are forecasted to see approximately up to 15cm of snowfall with the heaviest accumulations during the afternoon throughout this system.  At this point of time with monitoring the system, we are anticipating our teams to be back out early afternoon or evening of December 15th for a full plow run of all sites with another salt run to commence the plowing.  We are expecting to have all sites plowed and salted by the morning of Friday December 16th so that all sites are safe for clients.  Temperatures during this weather system are forecasted to be around 0 to 1°C.  We will update this site throughout the system should anything change.

We have an anticipated completion of this service region as of 10pm on December 15. Our teams within Brampton started a salt service run as well some sites were required to be plowed as of 2:30pm on December 15.

Our teams will remain on standby should any weather change upon completion of this service run as there is a potential for another 3cm of snowfall throughout the overnight and early morning hour before transitioning to rain and temperatures rising to above freezing within Mississauga. The Paramount Service teams throughout Fort Erie service areas as of 11am servicing is not required. We will continue to monitor this weather system that is forecasted within Fort Erie to begin around 7am on December 15, 2022. This service region is expecting possibly 15mm of rain fall and 1-3cm of snowfall until Friday December 16th. Our teams will be performed a pre-salt as of 10pm within this region to help combat any slippery areas that may arise during this weather system, the salt will also help combat the snow that falls.
