The Paramount Service teams throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown will be monitoring this weather system that is forecasted for December 5, 2021 throughout all service regions. There has been a southern shift within the latest forecast which has brought a winter precipitation event throughout the regions that will begin around noon and go through until Monday December 6, 2021. There is a chance for some wet snow, heavy at times that may persist until 3pm on December 5, There is a chance for mixed precipitation as well a brief period of freezing rain early this evening. The forecast is showing that if freezing rain does make an appearance it may be for a brief 1 hour period. Regions closer to Lake Ontario is anticipated to see more rainfall with the temperatures being well above freezing. Temperatures will continue to rise during the evening and by the early morning hours temperatures are forecasted to be the high of 10 degrees, we are forecasted throughout all regions for the rainfall to be more dominant along with very high winds. As of 6pm on December 5 all regions started seeing some freezing rain pellets throughout, all sites are being monitored throughout this system.
