The Paramount Service teams throughout Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge will be starting a second full salt service run as of 1am on February 17, 2023. Throughout these regions we had seen a mix of some snow and rain which transitioned to freezing rain which began early evening on February 16, 2023 which switched to heavy rain. Temperatures are forecasted to dip during the early morning hours to -2 to -5° and there is a potential for freezing and slippery areas due to the temperatures dropping and the amount of rain received. We had received reports of icy and slippery areas so the teams were called back out to perform a secondary run. This secondary salt run is being performed to help combat properties from freezing as well the potential for the scattered flurries that is forecasted throughout the morning that could potentially bring less than a centimeter of snowfall. We have an anticipated completion of the secondary salt run as of 6am on February 17, 2023. Please check back to this site for future service level updates.
