The Paramount Service teams throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown started a second full salt service run as of 4:30am on February 17, 2023. Within these regions after the rain and freezing rain received on the 16th the temperatures started to drop around 3am after the rain transitioned again to freezing. Our teams completed a secondary salt service run to help combat any slippery areas that may arise due to the temperatures being below freezing. We had also seen the scattered flurries that was forecasted and received less than a centimeter of snowfall during this time. This salt service run will help combat the flurries that were seen during this weather episode. Our teams completed this salt service run as of 9am on February 17, 2023. The Paramount Service teams throughout Toronto, Scarborough and Markham will be starting a second full salt service run as of 4:30am on February 17, 2023. Throughout these regions we had seen a mix of some snow and rain which transitioned to freezing rain which began early evening on February 16, 2023 which switched to heavy rain. Temperatures are forecasted to dip during the early morning hours to -2 to -5° and there is a potential for freezing and slippery areas due to the temperatures dropping and the amount of rain received. This secondary salt run is being performed to help combat properties from freezing as well the potential for the scattered flurries that is forecasted throughout the morning that could potentially bring less than a centimeter of snowfall. We have an anticipated completion of the secondary salt run as of 9:30am on February 17, 2023. Please check back to this site for future service level updates.
