Site Servicing and Weather Monitoring Update February 12, 2021

Snow

On Time

Paramount Service teams within Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown have been monitoring all sites throughout the early morning hours of February 12, 2021. Snow started to come down within Waterdown around 4am and started to accumulate as of 7:30am with around 2cm of snowfall. As of 7:30am we have teams checking the other areas within these service regions. East Burlington and Oakville seem to be getting hit with this lake effect snow as well and have received anywhere from 1 – 2cm of accumulation. All teams within these regions are on standby for the call out to start servicing. Please check back to this site for service level updates.

**UPDATE – As of noon on February 12, 2021 our teams within Burlington and Oakville have been dispatched to perform a plow service run. These areas have started to exceed the 5cm threshold of snow. Heavy Snow squalls off the lake will be persisting for the next 2 to 3 days. Some Weather outlets are predicting as much as 50cm of snow by Sunday night. We will be out and about throughout today on February 12, 2021 and the weekend clearing, prioritizing senior homes, medical buildings and anything essential service wise. We will be preforming multiple clearing runs throughout the next 72 hours. At this time we ask from you our valued customer to please be patient, this may not be our typical snow event. If 30 to 50cm does fall we will be working around the clock with the exception of necessary sleep breaks for our hard working crews. If you do not have to leave your home we suggest that you do not.

Snow Squall Warning

Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm can be expected before the snow tapers off this afternoon. Visibility will be near zero at times in snow and blowing snow, especially along the QEW between Burlington and Stoney Creek.

Paramount Service teams within Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Grimsby and Brantford have been monitoring all sites throughout the early morning hours of February 12, 2021. Snow started falling lightly around 4am within these service regions and started to get heavier and accumulate as of 7:30am. The teams were called out as of 8:30am to start performing a full plow service followed by a salt run as these areas have received close to 5cm of snow accumulation between 7am and 8am. Sites will be serviced with treated salt, due to the temperatures being -12 the white road salt will not be as effective. We have an estimated completion of the plow run by mid afternoon and a salt run will commence right after.

** UPDATE – As of 11am we were informed that we had a malfunction with a machine in Hamilton, we are working on getting the operator back up and running. We are anticipating an hour delay at this time. We will update if this time changes.

** UPDATE AS OF 9:05AM our teams advised that the Red Hill Hwy has been shut down along with major traffic backups on the skyway. The teams due to this will be delayed for servicing. Please drive safe if you are on the road as they are very slick.

Paramount Service teams within Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge have been monitoring all sites throughout the overnight hours. These sites have not received any accumulation during the overnight of February 12, 2021 but are continuing to monitor and be on standby. Please check back to this site for service level updates.

** UPDATE – As of 10am reports have come in from our Cambridge teams that a salt service run is being performed on all properties within Cambridge for February 12, 2021. These sites have received around 1 to 2cm of snowfall that began around 10am. We will be completing a full salt service run with an estimated completion of these sites by 2pm on February 12, 2021. Sites will be salted with using treated salt with the temperatures being well below freezing as regular salt will not be as effective with these temperatures.
