Site Monitoring and Service Run December 4, 2024

The Paramount Service teams in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Waterdown our teams have been monitoring the weather system that began around 7 am on December 4, 2024, with some scattered flurries throughout these regions which tapered off during the afternoon and began again around 5 pm.  Throughout these regions, we have seen anywhere from 2 to 3 cm of snowfall throughout this episode with a potential for another centimeter during the evening and into the early morning hours of December 5, 2024 before tapering off around 9am at 0°C.  Our teams have been dispatched to start a salt service run for all properties as of 10 pm on December 4, 2024, some areas may require a plow service during this episode.  This service run will help combat the snow that has fallen as well the snow that is in the forecast as well help combat any slippery areas from arising.  Temperatures during this weather episode are above 0°C sitting around 1° and dipping below freezing around 4 am on December 5, 2024.  Properties within the higher elevations could have received a little more accumulation during this system’s passing through.

The Paramount Service teams throughout London and Woodstock our teams have been monitoring the weather system that began around 7 am on December 4, 2024, with some scattered flurries throughout these regions which tapered off during the afternoon and began again around 5 pm.  Throughout these regions, we have seen anywhere from 2 to 3 cm of snowfall throughout this episode with a potential for another 5 to 8cm during the evening and into the early morning hours of December 5, 2024.  Our teams have been dispatched to start a service run for all properties as of 10 pm on December 4, 2024, during this system another plow and salt service will be required.  Temperatures during this weather episode are above 0°C sitting around 1° and dipping below freezing around 4 am on December 5, 2024.  Properties within the higher elevations could have received a little more accumulation during this system’s passing through.  Our teams in London have been working around the clock with the amount of snow over the past few days since the weekend, cleaning and clearing all sites to ensure the safety of our clients.

Description

Snow squalls on the way.

Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations of 25 to 50 cm likely.
Peak snowfall rates of 5 to 10 cm per hour.
Very poor to zero visibility at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Timing:
After midnight tonight through Thursday night.

Discussion:
A snow squall is possible as a cold front moves through tonight. In the wake of the cold front several bands of snow squalls from Lake Huron will affect the region Thursday through Thursday night. Locally higher snowfall amounts near 60 cm or more are possible especially if a single strong snow squall locks in for a few hours or more beginning Thursday morning.
