Within these regions and more north like Carlisle, Freelton areas seem to be getting a little system coming through during the evening of December 16. We are seeing some scattered flurries but temperatures are still above the freezing point and salt residue should help combat further snow from sticking. The Paramount Service teams throughout Fort Erie service areas monitoring this weather system that is forecasted within this region to begin during the overnight hours of December 16 leading into December 17.

Snow squall development is possible overnight into Saturday.

Hazards:
Total snowfall amounts in the 15 to 25 cm range are possible over areas from Port Colborne and east towards the international border, including Fort Erie.

Reduced visibility due to heavy snow and blowing snow.

Timing:
Beginning overnight and persisting through Saturday.

Discussion:
Snow squall development is possible beginning overnight and continuing through Saturday. Total snowfall amounts near 25 cm are possible with the highest amounts expected over the Fort Erie area.

Snow squalls are expected to move south of the area Saturday night or Sunday morning.

With the salt service run performed early morning December 16 this will help combat the first initial snowfall that is forecasted. Our teams will continue to monitor this weather system and are all on standby for servicing to begin. Our teams anticipate a full plow come morning of December 17 once the 5cm threshold had taken place. Our teams will return again during the late day or early evening for another clearing and final salting will commence. This is all preliminary plans at the moment but we will continue to monitor and will update this site with the plan of attack for this storm.
