The roads are in many regions are very treacherous. Please drive and be safe today.

As of 9am all sites in the Burlington, Oakville and Milton areas received a full salt run on March 6, 2020. The Waterdown sites will be revisited this afternoon as it seems to have gotten the band of snow that fell throughout the other regions. We anticipate a push and salt run will have to be completed this afternoon in the Waterdown areas as it is supposed to snow until 5 pm with scattered flurries.

As of 7am we had received reports of snowfall becoming heavier within the Hamilton, Stoney Creek as well Grimsby areas and will require a full push as they had received anywhere from 5 to 7cm of snowfall in a short period of time this morning. Our teams started to switch gears and began plowing in these service areas. A salt run had already taken place at most of these sites as of 7am on March 6, 2020 but the teams are circling back through to service all sites within these areas. Residential properties will be serviced as we have hit over the 5cm threshold.

** UPDATE – As of 7am we have received reports that we are switching gears due to do a full plow service along with salting. These areas have received anywhere from 3 to 5cm of snow in the past hour. There will be a delay on completion time due to the changeover in service levels. Some areas of Kitchener Waterloo ended up with 6 to 7cm and others 2 to 4cm, the majority of the sites received had received a salt service run before the snow started to really accumulate so these will be reserviced. Guelph has received around 3cm which sites were serviced with a salt run.

SNOW

ON TIME

Southern Greater Toronto Area is expected to see a couple cm fall from the sky this morning of March 6, 2020 so our teams are going to perform a salt run for safety reasons. Right now our sites have no residue left from the rain recently so the salt run is multifaceted. One will help melt any snow today that falls. Secondly, help prevent the water from refreezing this evening when we drop below freezing tonight when we reach -8 overnight. Our crews are starting their salt runs as of 4am on March 6, 2020, and completed in Toronto by 8am.
