Southern Greater Toronto Area is expected to see a couple cm fall from the sky this morning of March 6, 2020 so our teams are going to perform a salt run for safety reasons. Right now our sites have no residue left from the rain recently so the salt run is multifaceted. One will help melt any snow today that falls. Secondly, help prevent the water from refreezing this evening when we drop below freezing tonight when we reach -8 overnight. Our crews are starting their salt runs as of 4am on March 6, 2020, we have an estimated completion time of 9am. The end time may vary depending on traffic.
** UPDATE – As of 7am we have received reports that the snow is coming down a lot harder in Hamilton, Stoney Creek and Grimsby areas. Our crews are still out and may have to switch gears as we have been told around 2 to 3 cm have falling in an hour and half. Please check back for service level updates as the morning goes through. Estimated completion time has now been extended.
