The Paramount Service teams throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown started a full salt service run as of 11am on January 16, 2024.  Our management teams had been monitoring a weather system that started around 8am on January 16, 2024 with scattered flurries and a we received less than a centimeter of snowfall which ended close to 10am.  Temperatures remain below freezing and sitting around -10°C.  With the temperatures being well below freezing and sitting around -10°C, pre-salting was not an option on snow with the temperatures being so cold.  Our teams performed  this salt service run with treated salt as regular white salt can lose it’s effectiveness below -7°C and treated works better on top of snow.  Our teams completed their salt service runs as of 4pm on January 16, 2024.  The teams were battling against traffic between cars as well foot traffic so it took a little longer to get around due to this episode taking place in the morning.  As always, our teams remain on standby should weather change,  Please check back to this site for service level updates for all regions as well as weather updates.
