Paramount Landscaping Inc. staff would like to wish all of our clients a very Happy New Year!

Snowfall occurred throughout the day on December 31, with snow ending around 9:00 PM. Temperatures remained below freezing at approximately –5°C, with overnight lows reaching –12°C. Salt service was required to help combat snow accumulation and reduce slippery conditions. Due to temperatures dropping below –7°C, salt effectiveness may be reduced; applications were completed strategically based on conditions and safety requirements.  Paramount Snow Management teams deployed across the listed regions beginning at 8:00 PM. Service levels were adjusted based on observed site conditions and regional requirements, with Waterdown receiving a full plow and salt service due to accumulation levels.

Southern Ontario continues to experience a province-wide salt shortage due to increased winter demand and supply chain disruptions, with municipalities being prioritized. As a result, salt availability for private contractors remains limited. Paramount Snow Management continues to secure materials as they become available and deploys services strategically to prioritize safety. In some cases, service timing and methods may be adjusted to ensure the most effective and responsible use of available materials.  All service routes were completed by approximately 1:00 AM on January 1, 2026.  All teams remain on standby should further servicing be required.

Paramount Snow Management teams have been monitoring a weather system affecting the GTA throughout the day on December 31, 2025. Across all regions, snowfall accumulations ranged from a trace up to approximately 3 cm, with flurries forecasted to continue through the evening hours. Temperatures remained below freezing, hovering around –5°C, with overnight lows forecasted to drop to approximately –12°C. A full salt service run was required to help combat the snow that had fallen and reduce the risk of slippery conditions as temperatures continued to drop.  Paramount Snow Management teams were called in to deploy across the GTA beginning at 7:00 PM, with crews arriving on sites by approximately 8:00 PM. Deployment was based on real-time monitoring and forecasted conditions to ensure proactive service and safe access at all properties.

Service runs are expected to be completed by approximately 12:00 AM on December 31, 2025, just in time to ring in the New Year.

** UPDATE – Our teams within Guelph were faced with a few mechanical issues, which have delayed our service completion times.  We anticipate the completion of these sites as of 5 am on January 1, 2026.

** UPDATE – As of 11 pm on December 31, 2025, our teams within Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge were faced with ongoing snow streamers.  Snowfall amounts reported as of this time were 15 to 20 cm of snowfall accumulation.  Our teams are continuing to service the properties by plowing and salting to ensure all is taken care of by the morning.  Please check back for further updates regarding these regions as the snow squalls continue to push through. **

Paramount Landscaping staff would like to extend our best wishes to all of our clients for a safe and happy New Year. Wishing you all the best for 2026.

Reports from Paramount offices within Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo confirmed that a snow squall moved through these regions, resulting in snowfall accumulations exceeding 5 cm. Due to the increased accumulation and changing conditions, this weather event transitioned from a salt-only service to a full plow event, followed by a salt application to address snowpack and potential icy conditions.  Due to the timing and intensity of the snow squalls affecting these regions, deployment times were adjusted. Teams will begin service at 9:00 PM to safely and effectively address site conditions based on real-time monitoring and regional reports.  Plowing in progress overnight, with salt service to follow upon completion. Teams remain actively monitoring conditions.
