Snowfall occurred during the evening hours of January 3, 2026. Reports from service teams within Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Waterdown indicated snowfall accumulations ranging from a trace up to approximately 1 cm.  A salt service run was required to help combat the snow that had fallen and to address any slippery areas, as temperatures remained below freezing throughout the event.  Temperatures during this weather episode ranged between –6°C and –7°C, increasing the risk of icy conditions.  Paramount Snow Management teams deployed salt service routes beginning at 12:00 AM on January 4, 2026.  Deployment was based on real-time monitoring, site condition reports, and forecasted overnight temperatures to ensure proactive and safe service delivery.

SERVICE NOTES – SALT SUPPLY UPDATE:
Southern Ontario continues to experience a province-wide salt shortage due to increased winter demand and supply chain disruptions, with municipalities being prioritized.  As a result, salt availability for private contractors remains limited.  Paramount Snow Management continues to secure materials as they become available and deploys services strategically to prioritize safety.  In some cases, service timing and methods may be adjusted to ensure the most effective and responsible use of available materials.

All salt service routes were completed by approximately 6:00 AM on January 4, 2026.
All teams remain on standby should further servicing be required.
