Heavy Snow
On Time
Paramount Snow Management teams have been responding to a major snowfall event that developed from a system initially forecasted to deliver light accumulation. Snowfall intensified overnight, with heavy snowfall rates exceeding 1 cm per hour at times. Accumulations across the GTA ranged between 10–15 cm, with some northern regions receiving 20 cm or more. Temperatures during this event ranged between –8°C and –11°C, contributing to challenging winter conditions.
Due to the volume of snow and ongoing accumulation, multiple plow passes were required to maintain access and safety at all properties. Snow Management teams remain actively deployed across all regions. All properties have now received two full plow service runs, and crews have transitioned into a full salt service run to address post-plow conditions and help mitigate icy surfaces.
Please note that teams remain out servicing properties and will continue working through routes in a safe and efficient manner. Travel conditions may still be challenging, and patience is appreciated as crews navigate traffic and ongoing cleanup efforts.
SERVICE NOTES – SALT SUPPLY UPDATE:
Southern Ontario continues to experience a province-wide salt shortage due to increased winter demand and supply chain disruptions, with municipalities being prioritized. As a result, salt availability for private contractors remains limited. Paramount Snow Management continues to secure material as it becomes available and deploys services strategically to prioritize safety. In some cases, service timing and application methods may be adjusted to ensure the most effective and responsible use of available materials.
Service ongoing. Snow Management teams remain actively deployed and will continue servicing all properties as conditions require.
