Paramount Snow Management teams have been monitoring a weather system that was forecasted to impact the GTA throughout the afternoon and evening of January 16, 2026. Most regions were forecast to receive snowfall accumulations ranging from approximately 1 to 3 cm.  Following a period of rest after extended operations, teams will be returning overnight to perform a salt service run. This service is being performed to help combat light snow accumulation, possible flurries forecasted into January 17, and to address any slippery areas that may arise.

Temperatures during this weather episode ranged between 0°C and –1°C, with temperatures forecasted to rise above freezing during the afternoon hours of January 16.  Teams are scheduled to begin a salt service run overnight on January 17, with crews working through all regions across the GTA.  All routes are estimated to be completed by approximately 5:00 AM on January 17, 2026.
