Partly Cloudy

On Time

Paramount Snow Management teams have been monitoring a potential weather system throughout the day on January 18, 2026. Forecasts indicate the possibility of 1 to 3 cm of snowfall across the GTA, with snow potentially beginning around 1:00 AM across all regions.

Temperatures are forecasted to remain well below freezing, sitting around –8°C during the early morning hours and continuing into January 19, with daytime highs expected around –6°C. At temperatures below –7°C, salt can begin to lose effectiveness, which may impact how quickly results are observed following application.  Snow Management teams will continue to closely monitor this system as the evening progresses. All teams remain on standby and will be called in to deploy a salt service run during the early morning hours of January 19 should conditions require servicing.

SERVICE NOTES – SALT SUPPLY UPDATE:
Southern Ontario continues to experience a province-wide salt shortage due to increased winter demand and supply chain disruptions, with municipalities being prioritized. As a result, salt availability for private contractors remains limited. Paramount Snow Management continues to secure material as it becomes available and deploys services strategically to prioritize safety. In some cases, service timing and application methods may be adjusted to ensure the most effective and responsible use of available materials.
