Paramount Snow Management teams have been monitoring a weather system impacting the GTA throughout January 21, 2026. Snow began falling around 11:00 AM, with early reports indicating accumulations ranging from a trace up to approximately 1 to 2 cm across many regions. A salt service run was required to help combat the snow that fell, address additional snowfall throughout the event, and reduce the risk of slippery conditions. Temperatures remained below freezing, ranging between –4°C and –5°C across the GTA.
Snow Management teams were deployed beginning at 2:00 PM to service sites across all regions. Due to varying snowfall intensities, service levels were adjusted regionally, with plow services deployed where accumulations exceeded thresholds.
Received a full salt service run, completed by 6:00 PM.
SERVICE NOTES – SALT SUPPLY UPDATE:
Southern Ontario continues to experience a province-wide salt shortage due to increased winter demand and supply chain disruptions, with municipalities being prioritized. As a result, salt availability for private contractors remains limited. Paramount Snow Management continues to secure material as it becomes available and deploys services strategically to prioritize safety. In some cases, service timing and application methods may be adjusted to ensure the most effective and responsible use of available materials.
All teams remain on standby should further servicing be required.
