On Time
Our snow management teams have been closely monitoring a large winter storm system that has been in the forecast over the past several days. At this time, all regions across the GTA are under a Snowstorm Warning. Forecasts are calling for approximately 20–40 cm of snowfall, with this system expected to come down fast and heavy. The storm is forecasted to begin around 4:00 a.m. with light flurries. Snowfall is expected to intensify by early afternoon, with rates of 1 cm or more per hour. The bulk of the storm is anticipated around 2:00 p.m.
Our teams are currently scheduled to begin their routes between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on January 25, 2026, once the 5 cm service threshold has been reached.
Service Prioritization & Plan of Attack Senior residences, hospitals, and hospices will be serviced first Followed by open businesses, then multi-residential properties and condominiums. Residential properties will be serviced last. Our plan at this time is to complete a first round of clearing by approximately 10:00 p.m. on January 23. Crews will then begin a second clearing overnight, anticipated to be completed by 7:00 a.m. on January 24, 2026. Following this, teams will proceed through routes a third time to apply salt to all properties.
Temperature & Salt Effectiveness Please note that temperatures throughout this storm are expected to remain well below freezing, ranging from -13°C to -15°C. At these temperatures, traditional road salt becomes significantly less effective, as it requires warmer conditions to activate and melt ice efficiently. As a result, melting may be slower, and surfaces may remain icy despite salt applications.
Additionally, Southern Ontario is currently experiencing a salt supply shortage, which requires careful and responsible use of materials to ensure coverage across all properties while maintaining safety. Our drivers and shovel crews will move through sites as quickly as possible, but safety remains our top priority. We appreciate your patience during this significant weather event. We anticipate all properties will be fully serviced with salting by approximately 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on January 25, 2026, with the final round of service anticipated to be completed between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on January 26, 2026. We thank our clients in advance for their understanding and cooperation.
If you do not need to be out during this storm, we strongly encourage you to remain off the roads, as conditions are expected to be very dangerous. Please be patient with our teams — they are working diligently and safely through a large, fast-moving system. If you have any questions, please get in touch with our Snowline at 905-332-2030 ext. 1 or email snowline@paramountlandscaping.ca. If you require snow relocation/removal, or parking lot sweeps, please get in touch with us via snowline@paramountlandscaping.ca with this request. Our teams will not be able to get these started until Wednesday, January 28, 2026, after the teams have had some rest after this storm. We will do our best to get quotations for relocations/removals back to you quickly to get all scheduled in.
