MAJOR WINTER STORM UPDATE — January 26, 2026
Update as of 5:00 AM on January 26, 2026
Paramount Snow Management teams have been actively deployed since 1:00 PM on January 25, 2026, and are now approaching 16 consecutive hours of service while battling an extreme winter storm that has delivered approximately 30–45 cm of snowfall across the GTA.
As of 2:00 AM on January 26, teams completed the first full round of plowing across properties and are currently working through the second round of plowing. This storm represents one of the largest snowfall events the GTA has experienced in approximately 10 years.
Crews are continuing to work through all sites in a timely and safe manner; however, with snowfall volumes of this magnitude, progress is physically demanding and conditions remain extremely challenging. We can only push teams so far when dealing with this level of accumulation, but please be assured that all crews are actively working and moving through assigned routes.
At this time, we are still anticipating second-round plowing to be completed by approximately 10:00 AM on January 26, 2026, subject to ongoing conditions.
Temperatures across the GTA remain well below freezing, sitting around –13°C, making this an exceptionally cold and challenging night, particularly for our sidewalk and shovel crews who are working on foot in exposed conditions.
Due to the volume of snow, continued accumulation, and unavoidable challenges encountered throughout the night — including truck and equipment breakdowns, machinery issues, and staff fatigue — service timelines may fluctuate as crews prioritize safety while maintaining steady progress.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
If you have the ability to stay home, we strongly encourage you to do so. Road conditions across the GTA remain extremely hazardous. In many areas, city plows have not yet been able to clear roads, and we anticipate that many businesses will remain closed due to unsafe travel conditions.
Simply put — the roads remain a disaster.
We ask for patience and understanding for municipal road crews and commercial snow operators alike, as everyone across the region is battling through an unprecedented winter storm. Crews are working as safely and efficiently as possible under extraordinarily difficult conditions.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to manage this historic snowfall event.
