Snow

On Time

Paramount Snow Management teams were monitoring a weather system that began around 3:00 AM on February 10, 2026. Forecasts were calling for approximately 1–2 cm of snowfall, with higher elevation regions of the GTA potentially receiving 2–4 cm.  Due to the expected accumulation and below-freezing temperatures, teams have been deployed across multiple service regions for a salt service run to help maintain safe conditions.

Regional Service Deployment Details

Burlington, Oakville, Milton & Waterdown

Teams have been called in for a 4:00 AM start to perform a salt service run. These regions are expecting approximately 1 cm of snowfall between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Temperatures are well below freezing near –7°C, with a forecasted high of 0°C by noon.

Reason for Service

This salt service run is being performed to help combat the snowfall that has occurred overnight, as well as any scattered flurries forecasted throughout the day. The salt application is also intended to help prevent slippery areas from forming while temperatures remain well below freezing.

Temperature & Salt Effectiveness

Please note that at temperatures below –7°C, standard white salt begins to lose effectiveness, which may impact how quickly treated surfaces respond. Salt applications are completed strategically based on site conditions and safety requirements.

Salt Supply Update

Southern Ontario continues to experience a province-wide salt shortage due to increased winter demand and supply chain disruptions, with municipalities being prioritized. As a result, salt availability for private contractors remains limited. Paramount Landscaping Inc. continues to secure material as it becomes available and deploys services strategically to prioritize safety. In some cases, service timing and application levels may be adjusted to ensure the most effective and responsible use of available materials.

Estimated Completion

The anticipated completion time for all service routes is approximately 8:00 AM on February 10, 2026.
