The Paramount Service teams throughout Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge started a full salt service run as of 10 pm on January 28, 2025. Within the Guelph region, our teams performed a full plow service as they had seen anywhere from 5 to 6 cm of snowfall during the afternoon hours but were battling drifting snow also. Once the plowing was completed our teams switched gears and performed the salt service run Within Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, we received anywhere from a trace to 2 cm of snowfall that began in the late afternoon hours of January 29, 2025, and began to taper off around 10 pm. There is a potential for less than a centimeter of snowfall during the morning hours. We do not anticipate another service run at this time, but our teams remain on standby. Our teams performed this salt service run to combat the snow that had fallen and to help combat the snow that continued throughout the morning in the forecast. Salt service runs also help combat slippery areas that may arise while temperatures are below freezing.
