The Paramount Service teams in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Waterdown were called in for a salt service run throughout most regions across the GTA as of 10 pm on January 28, 2025.  Within these regions, we have seen anywhere from a trace to 2 cm of snowfall that began in the late afternoon hours of January 29, 2025, and is forecasted to taper off around 10 pm.  Within the forecast, we could potentially see less than a centimeter of snow between 10 pm and 12 am and again between  8 am and 9 am on January 30, 2025.  Our teams are performing a salt service run to combat the snow that has fallen and to help combat the snow that continues throughout the morning in the forecast.  Salt service runs also help combat slippery areas that may arise while temperatures are below freezing.  Temperatures throughout this weather episode were hovering around -2°C with a high of 2°C by 6 am on January 29, 2025.  We have an estimated completion time of 3 am on January 29, 2025.  Environment Canada posted a weather advisory for these regions with a potential for 5 to 10 cm with reduced visibility at times in heavy snow.  There’s a potential for snow to continue as an Alberta Clipper moves through with the snow tapering off in the morning of January 30, 2025.  Our snow management staff will continue to track this potential storm.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates as our snow management teams continue to track this next weather episode.

The Paramount Service teams throughout Toronto, Scarborough, and Markham were called in for a salt service run throughout most regions across the GTA as of 10 pm on January 28, 2025.  Within these regions, we have seen close to 5 cm and in some areas closer to 7 cm of snowfall that began in the late afternoon hours of January 29, 2025, and is forecasted to taper off around 10 pm.  Within the forecast, we could potentially see less than a centimeter of snow between 10 pm and 12 am and again between 5 am and 10 am on January 30, 2025 with a chance of another centimeter of snowfall.  Our teams are performing a full plow service in the Toronto region followed by a salt service run to combat the snow that has fallen and to help combat the snow that continues throughout the morning in the forecast.  Within Scarborough and Markham as of 10 pm reports are that a salt service run is needed to be performed.  Teams will plow where required.  Salt service runs also help combat slippery areas that may arise while temperatures are below freezing.  Temperatures throughout this weather episode were hovering around -3°C with a high of 1°C by 6 am on January 29, 2025.  We have an estimated completion time of 6 am with a full plow and salt service on January 29, 2025.  Environment Canada posted a weather advisory for these regions with a potential for 5 to 10 cm with reduced visibility at times in heavy snow.  There’s a potential for snow to continue as an Alberta Clipper moves through with the snow tapering off in the morning of January 30, 2025.  Our snow management staff will continue to track this potential storm.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates as our snow management teams continue to track this next weather episode.
