Mostly Cloudy

On Time

The Paramount Service teams in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Waterdown were monitoring all sites throughout the early morning hours of January 21, 2025, as there had been reports of streamers coming through all areas across the GTA.  Our teams were called in to start a salt service run as of 6 am on January 21, 2025, to service all properties within Milton.  This city had seen anywhere from a trace to a centimeter of snowfall during the early morning hours. The salt service run is being performed to help combat the snow that had fallen as well as any potential threats of snow squalls that may happen. Please note, with the frigid temperatures salt loses its effectiveness after -7°C so our teams will use Treated Salt but this can take time to react due to the temperatures sitting around -11°C should servicing be required.  Temperatures throughout the evening and over the next few days this week are currently settling in what is being called the Polar Vortex.  Temperatures are well below seasonal temperatures sitting around -12 with a low of -16 by 2 am on January 20 feeling like -26 with the windchill.  All teams have an estimated completion of their salt service runs at 10 am on January 20, 2025.  All teams remain on standby should further servicing be required.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates as our teams will continue to monitor.

** UPDATE – As of 6 am all sites within Burlington, Oakville, and Waterdown were checked and no servicing was required.  All teams remain on standby should further servicing be required.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates as our teams will continue to monitor.
