The Paramount Service teams in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Waterdown teams started a secondary salt run as of 2 pm on December 20, 2024. Throughout the morning of December 20 we had been seeing some scattered flurries throughout all regions as the storm that started on December 19 started to taper off. We received anywhere from a trace to a centimeter in most regions across the GTA. Our teams are performing this salt service run to help combat the snow that not only fell after the salt run that was completed early morning on December 20 but also throughout the morning and into early afternoon of December 20, 2024, as well to combat any slippery areas that may arise due to the temperatures remaining below freezing. We are forecasted to still see possibly less than a centimeter of snow fall between 6 pm and 10 pm on December 20, 2024. Our teams completed their runs as of 7 pm on December 20, 2024. Temperatures during the evening hours of December 20 and into the 21st of December are forecasted to be very cold sitting around -4°C with a low of -8°C with windchill making it feel like it’s -16°C. Our teams will remain on standby should further servicing be required and our snow management team will continue to monitor due to the temperatures dropping quite drastically there is a potential for an early morning salt run. Please check back to this site for future service level updates.
