Snow management teams across the GTA began a full salt service run at 8:00 AM on March 15, 2026.  During the early morning hours, our teams were monitoring a weather system that had been forecasted for the region. Snowfall began around 7:00 AM and tapered off close to 10:00 AM across most areas of the GTA.

Due to the snowfall and below-freezing temperatures during the morning hours, teams were deployed to perform a salt service run across all regions. This service was carried out to help combat the precipitation that fell and reduce the risk of slippery conditions while temperatures remained below freezing.  As the service run progressed, temperatures across the GTA rose above freezing and are expected to remain above freezing throughout the remainder of the day and overnight hours of March 15.

All teams across the GTA completed their salt service runs by approximately 1:00 PM on March 15.

Snow management teams will continue to monitor site conditions across all regions, and crews remain on standby should further servicing be required.
