Across the GTA on March 13, 2026, regions received 1–3 cm of snowfall, while northern areas received heavier accumulations of 5–10 cm. Snow began around 10:00 AM and tapered off close to 2:00 PM, with many regions experiencing mixed precipitation toward the end of the system as temperatures rose above freezing.

The heaviest snowfall occurred in regions north of the 401 corridor, requiring plowing services in addition to salting.

Hamilton, Stoney Creek & Brantford

Teams began a salt service run at 11:00 AM to combat snowfall and prevent slippery conditions.

• Snowfall: 1–3 cm

• Service: Full salt service run

All routes were completed by 6:00 PM on March 13, with minor delays due to daytime traffic.

Temperatures are forecasted to drop below freezing overnight to approximately –1°C, and teams remain on standby.

Snow management teams will continue monitoring all sites and regions overnight as temperatures drop below freezing.

Due to heavier snowfall forecasts, teams began a full plow service at 2:00 PM.

• Snowfall: Approximately 5–6 cm across most sites

Service details:

• Guelph: Full plow and salt service completed by 10:30 PM

• Kitchener, Waterloo & Cambridge: Plowing completed by 10:30 PM, with salt service run currently underway

Anticipated completion: 2:30 AM on March 14

Temperatures are hovering around 0°C and expected to drop to –3°C overnight, with the salt service run being performed to combat snowfall and prevent slippery conditions.

Temperatures are currently hovering around 0°C and are forecasted to drop to –3°C overnight.
