Weather Monitoring & Site Servicing March 6, 2026

Overcast

On Time

Snow management teams monitored all properties throughout the overnight hours of March 6 due to the Freezing Rain Warning issued across the GTA.  During site checks, teams identified several areas where slippery conditions were beginning to develop as temperatures fluctuated between 0°C and –1°C overnight.

To address these conditions, a salt service run was deployed in the following regions:

  • Waterdown

  • Hamilton Mountain

  • Brantford

  • Guelph

  • Oakville

  • Woodstock

Salt applications were performed to help combat the slippery areas identified on-site and reduce the risk of icy surfaces forming while temperatures remained near or below freezing.

Our teams continued monitoring conditions throughout the night while responding to reports of slippery areas across these regions.

Salt Supply Update — Southern Ontario

Southern Ontario continues to experience a regional salt shortage due to sustained winter demand, repeated weather systems, and ongoing supply constraints across the industry.

Salt depot inventories remain limited and inconsistent throughout the GTA and surrounding regions. Many suppliers are operating with reduced stock levels, and availability can change quickly depending on incoming deliveries and daily allocations.

Paramount Snow Management continues working closely with multiple suppliers to secure product where possible. Due to the ongoing shortage, salt must be deployed strategically and responsibly to ensure the most effective use of available material while maintaining safe conditions on all properties.

Teams remain on standby should further servicing be required as we continue to monitor both site conditions and weather forecasts across all regions.
