Weather Monitoring February 18, 2026

Mostly Cloudy

On Time

Paramount Snow Management teams are closely monitoring a weather system forecasted to begin in the early morning hours of February 18, 2026.  Across the GTA, there is the potential for rain, freezing rain, ice pellets, and snow throughout the morning and into the early afternoon. Forecasts vary significantly by region, and conditions may change quickly as temperatures fluctuate around the freezing mark.

Regional Forecast Overview

Burlington, Oakville, Milton & Waterdown

Temperatures are forecasted to remain above freezing until approximately noon, before dropping to 0°C. Rain is expected to begin around 4:00 AM, changing to freezing rain by 8:00 AM, with the potential for ongoing freezing rain through 12:00 AM on February 19.

Service Status

All teams are currently on standby for a potential early morning salt service run. Deployment decisions will be made based on observed site conditions and regional precipitation changes.

Salt Supply Update

Southern Ontario continues to experience a province-wide salt shortage, with municipalities being prioritized. Paramount Landscaping Inc., along with many contractors across the GTA, is experiencing limited salt availability.  Additionally, most salt suppliers across the GTA are not opening before 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, which may impact early morning material access and deployment timing if servicing is required.  Our teams continue to secure material as it becomes available and will deploy services strategically to prioritize safety.

We will continue to monitor this system closely and provide updates as conditions evolve.
