On Time
Paramount Snow Management teams have been monitoring a weather system that has been in the forecast for several days. What was initially anticipated to be a light snowfall event of a few centimeters has developed into a significant snowstorm.
Temperatures are expected to remain above freezing in most areas until approximately 8:00 PM on January 14, with scattered flurries beginning around 6:00 PM and intensifying later in the evening. Heavier snowfall rates are forecasted around 11:00 PM, with potential accumulations exceeding 1 cm per hour. Snow is expected to continue through the day and into the evening on January 15. Temperatures during this weather event are forecasted to range between –8°C and –11°C. Total snowfall accumulations are expected to range between 10–15 cm, with some northern GTA areas potentially receiving 20 cm or more. Due to the severity of this event, a full plow service is required to safely clear sites, followed by a salt application to help address post-plow icy conditions.
Snow Management teams will be deployed beginning at 1:00 AM on January 15 to perform a full plow service across all properties. Teams will then transition to a salt service run once plowing is completed. Clients are asked to please be patient as teams work through routes safely and efficiently during this significant snowfall event. Travel conditions may be hazardous, and extra caution is advised if travel is necessary.
SERVICE NOTES – SALT SUPPLY UPDATE:
Southern Ontario continues to experience a province-wide salt shortage due to increased winter demand and supply chain disruptions, with municipalities being prioritized. As a result, salt availability for private contractors remains limited. Paramount Snow Management continues to secure materials as they become available and deploys services strategically to prioritize safety. In some cases, service timing and application methods may be adjusted to ensure the most effective and responsible use of available materials.
