Reports throughout these areas indicated that slippery conditions were developing due to the combination of freezing rain experienced during the day and rainfall.
Afternoon temperatures on December 28 were hovering around 0°C and are forecasted to rise through the evening and into the morning of December 29. Teams were dispatched proactively to help combat any slippery areas that developed as conditions changed, as we were receiving reports of some slippery areas.
Southern Ontario–Wide Salt Shortage
The entire region is currently experiencing a salt shortage impacting all suppliers, not just Paramount Landscaping. Salt mines are prioritizing cities and municipalities for public safety, resulting in limited availability for contractors across Southern Ontario. We remain fully prepared and on call to respond as conditions evolve. Due to the shortage, we are strategically conserving salt to ensure availability when refreezing conditions occur. We encourage you to continue checking our Snow Line for regular updates on weather conditions and service plans.
We have an estimated completion time of 10 pm on December 28, 2025.
Please continue to check back for updates at www.paramountlandscaping.ca/snowline.

Rain
On Time
To our valued clients,
We want to keep you fully informed about the current weather conditions and the significant salt shortage affecting all of Southern Ontario. This morning, we’re expecting a mix of freezing rain turning into heavy rain throughout the day, with temperatures rising to around plus 4 to plus 5 degrees Celsius in all regions. This warmer weather should help break up the freezing rain initially, but as temperatures drop below zero tomorrow, we want to ensure we have salt available for when conditions refreeze.
Southern Ontario-Wide Salt Shortage
As you may know, the entire region is currently facing a salt shortage that affects all suppliers, not just ours. While we’ve referenced information from one of our major suppliers, Legends Landscape Supply Inc., this is a widespread issue across Southern Ontario. The salt mines are prioritizing cities and municipalities first for public safety, which means all contractors are dealing with limited salt supplies.
Our Preparedness and How to Stay Updated
We are fully prepared and on call to respond as the situation evolves. Because of the shortage, we are conserving salt for when temperatures drop again, ensuring we have what we need when conditions refreeze. We encourage you to check our Snow Line on our website, which will be updated regularly with our plans and actions. We will also continue to keep you informed directly.
Thank you for your understanding and patience. We appreciate your continued trust in Paramount Landscaping, and your safety is always our top priority.

Light Rain
On Time
Paramount Service teams began a service run as of 3:00 PM on December 26, 2025. All properties received a full plow service followed by a salt service run.
Throughout the day on December 26, beginning around 9:00 AM, all regions experienced scattered flurries with temperatures below freezing, sitting at -1°C. By approximately noon, snowfall increased, and some accumulation was observed before conditions transitioned to freezing rain. Most sites across London and Woodstock received anywhere from a centimeter to 3cm of snowfall.
All properties were plowed across these regions by approximately 11:00 PM on December 26. The subsequent salt service run was completed by approximately 4:00 AM on December 27. With temperatures well below freezing, the salt service run was performed to help combat the snow that fell, as well as to combat any slippery areas that may arise due to the falling temperatures.
All teams remain on standby should further servicing be required.
