The Paramount Service teams throughout Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge have been monitoring a system that is forecasted across the GTA on January 10, 2025. All areas are forecasted to start seeing some scattered flurries beginning around dinner time and going through overnight and into the morning hours of January 11, 2025. Throughout these regions, we could see anywhere from 3 to 5 cm of snowfall beginning at 6 pm and going through until 6 am January 11, 2025. Temperatures during this episode remain below freezing sitting around -5°C with a low of -6°C by early morning. Our teams have been called to deploy for each region as of 6 pm to perform a salt service run, our teams are being sent out at the beginning of this episode to help combat the snow that is falling and help prevent any slippery areas from arising. This service run is also to help combat the snow that is in the forecast which is to continue throughout the overnight and early morning hours. We have an estimated completion time of this service run as of 11 pm on January 10, 2025. Upon completion, all teams will remain on standby for further service levels as the snow is still forecasted until early morning. We do anticipate a secondary service run to be performed in the early morning hours of January 11, 2025. We will continue to monitor this system and our snow management team will be monitoring sites for a decision on further service levels during this episode.
