Site Servicing and Weather Monitoring January 4, 2025 ** UPDATE **

The Paramount Service teams in Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Waterdown teams will be monitoring all sites across the GTA during the evening hours of January 3 and into the early morning hours of January 4, 2025.  We are forecasted across the GTA to see some scattered flurries starting around 5 am on January 4, 2025, and going through until 1 pm with a potential of 1 to 2 cm of snowfall accumulation.  Our teams will continue to monitor this potential weather episode as we have also been monitoring some streamers that have been popping up throughout the GTA since January 1, 2025.  Our teams remain on standby and will deploy should servicing be required.  Our snow management teams are monitoring the sites as well temperatures as we are below freezing sitting at -4°C with a low of -5° by the morning.  We do have residual salt from the previous run on New Year’s Day but we will continue to monitor this threat.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates.

** UPDATE – All teams are out monitoring and checking sites as some streamers came through during the early morning hours of January 4, 2025.  As of 2 am on January 4, 2025, no servicing is required at this time.  Our teams are continuing to monitor the weather and the sites.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates.

** UPDATE – As of 6 am our teams were monitoring all sites throughout these regions, our teams were being deployed to perform a salt service run within North East Oakville these areas received a trace of snow with a streamer that came through.  These sites will be receiving a salt service run to help combat the snow that fell as well as combat any slippery areas that may arise due to temperatures hovering around -5.  Sites within Milton are also being serviced during this run as a band came through and this region has seen a trace of snow.  We have an estimated completion time of 11 am on January 4, 2025.

** UPDATE – As of 2 am our teams were monitoring all sites within these regions.  Our teams are reporting within Stoney Creek and Hamilton Mountain that there is a trace of snow that has been seen throughout the early morning hours of January 4, 2025.  Our teams within these areas are being deployed and will be started a salt service run as of 4 am.  This service run is being performed to help combat the snow that has fallen as well as scattered flurries that are in the forecast throughout the day on January 4, 2024 with an estimated completion time of 11 am.  The salt service run will also help combat any slippery areas that may arise as temperatures are sitting around -5°C.  Our teams within Hamilton downtown and Brantford will continue to monitor and we will update this site as service levels may change.

The Paramount Service teams throughout Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge teams were monitoring the weather system coming through these regions that began in the afternoon hours of January 2 and went into the evening.  We saw a trace of snowfall during the early evening hours, our teams within Kitchener and Waterloo performed a salt service run of these properties to help combat the snow that fell as well as help combat any slippery areas due to the temperatures being below freezing.  Throughout this weather episode temperatures were sitting around -2°C and a low of -6°C by 3 am.  Our teams started this service run as of 1 am on January 3, 2025, and completed their servicing as of 4 am on January 3rd, 2024.  Sites in Guelph and Cambridge were monitored throughout the early morning hours, and no servicing was required.  Our teams remain on standby should further servicing be needed and sites will continue to be monitored as there are scattered flurries in these regions that are forecasted. ** UPDATE – As of 2 am our teams were called out within Kitchener and Waterloo as reports were given that these areas have seen anywhere from 2.5 to 3 cm of snowfall.  Our teams have been called in to perform a full service run of these areas to help combat the snow that has fallen as well combat the snow that remains in the forecast throughout the morning hours of January 4, 2025.  As of 3 am our teams within Cambridge have reported close to 5 cm of snowfall, our teams within this region will begin a full service run by plowing and salting all sites.  We have an estimated completion of Kitchener and Waterloo by 7 am and Cambridge by 8 am.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates.

** UPDATE—As of 6 p.m., our teams in Guelph were called in to perform a full salt service run on January 4, 2025.  Our teams are performing this salt service run as we have seen anywhere from a trace to a centimeter of snowfall during the evening.  This run is being conducted to help combat the snow that has fallen and potentially to fall as we have a chance to see some scattered flurries.  Our teams are also performing this run to help combat any slippery areas that may arise as temperatures are well below freezing.  We have an estimated completion time of this service run as of 11 pm on January 4, 2025.

** UPDATE – As of 7:30 am, our teams were monitoring all sites and reports are showing that we have received a trace of snowfall throughout these regions.  Our teams are continuing to monitor all sites within these regions as we are forecasted to see a potential for another 2 cm of snowfall during the morning hours of January 4, 2025.  Temperatures are around -5 during this episode coming through.  Our teams are on standby and will deploy once the system has passed to perform a salt service run.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates.

** UPDATE – As of 11:30 am our teams within Toronto, Scarborough and Markham deployed to perform a salt service run.  Within these regins reports were stating anywhere from a trace to 2 cm of snowfall because of the streamers that took place this morning January 4, 2025.  Our teams are performing a full salt service run within these areas to help combat the snow that has fallen as well combat any future snow that is in the forecast today as it is calling for scattered flurries.  With the temperatures sitting around -5 our teams are also performing this salt service run to help combat any slippery areas from arising while temperatures are below freezing.  We have an estimated completion of this salt service run as of 4:30 pm on January 4, 2025.  Please check back to this site for future service level updates as we will continue to monitor these streamers throughout the regions across the GTA.
