The Paramount Service teams throughout Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge started a full salt service run of all regions throughout the GTA as of 9 pm on December 23. Throughout the afternoon on December 23 we had been seeing some scattered flurries and light snow which changed over to mixed precipitation with a rain/snow mix. The forecast has changed to a mixed precipitation episode which is forecasted to taper off around 3 am, we are forecasted to see just over a centimeter of snow mixed with a millimeter of rain. Temperatures during the remainder of this weather episode are forecasted to be above freezing sitting around 2°C and remaining above freezing and on the rise with a high of 2°C with a mixture of sun and cloud. Our teams deployed as of 9 pm to start a full salt service run to help combat the scattered flurries we had seen throughout the day as well as help combat any slippery areas that may arise. We have an anticipated completion of this salt service run as of 2 am on December 24, 2024. Please check back to this site for future service level updates.
** UPDATE – Our teams within Kitchener and Waterloo have advised that the sites are requiring a full plow service as they had seen close to 5 cm of snowfall. The teams will complete the full plow service of all properties within these regions before salt run commencement. Our teams have an estimated completion time for plowing as of 4 am and salting will take place afterwards.
