Winter Storm January 25 to January 26, 2023 Completion

The Paramount Service teams throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown started a full service run as of 5pm on January 25th, 2023. Our teams were monitoring the storm that started early afternoon on Jan 25th and was forecasted to go through to early morning on the 26th. The storm was forecasted to bring 15-20 cm across the GTA with up to 25cm in some areas in the hardest hit regions. Within these regions we saw close to 15-20cm throughout this weather system. Our plan was to start servicing all properties as of 5pm which will set us up for an overnight secondary plow and finishing with a salt run Thursday morning. Our teams completed the first service run around 2am and all sites started to receive a secondary run that began immediately after the first with a tidy up of all sites and a salt service run. Some of our teams have been stuck due to traffic even after being called in for 3pm. The road conditions have been extremely difficult for our teams to get into work with highways and roads closed. We received close to 20cm of snow in a short amount of time during the afternoon. Due to the high volume of traffic on roads and conditions of roads this slowed down most of the crews from arriving. We instructed all teams to remain safe as the roads are very slippery under the large snowfall received. Our teams completed their secondary run with tidy up and salting of all properties as of 2am on January 26, 2023. All teams were send home for a mandatory rest period, our teams remain on standby and will continue to monitor weather and sites. There is a potential for another salt service run on the evening of January 26 into January 27. We will update as the evening goes through. Please check back to this site for future service level updates.
