Site Service Secondary Run Completion January 17, 2023

The Paramount Service teams throughout Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Waterdown started a secondary salt run of all sites throughout these regions. Our teams were all called in to perform this salt service run as our service checks are showing signs of deterioration of the first salt run. We are starting our routes as soon as drivers can get back in, trucks should start to be dispatched as of 9:30am and completed the run by 3pm. Temperatures were fluctuating between 1 to 3° throughout the day and with the deterioration of the first salt run the second run was performed to help combat slippery areas. ** UPDATE – As of 4pm on January 17th, 2023 our teams within Kitchener and Waterloo started a secondary salt run of all properties throughout these regions. Our teams have been monitoring all sites throughout the day today and the initial salt run helped combat any slippery conditions due to the freezing rain that took place earlier this morning. The sites appeared to hold off throughout the day but with the temperatures fluctuating the salt seemed to deteriorate throughout the afternoon. Our teams are performing this secondary run to help combat any slippery conditions as there is a potential for more precipitation. We have an estimated completion of all sites by 9pm on January 17, 2023. Please check back to this site for future service level updates.

The Paramount Service teams throughout Fort Erie started a full salt service run as of 12am on January 17, 2023. Our teams were monitoring the forecast along with the alerts posted by Environment Canada for a potential freezing rain episode which is forecasted to begin around 3am for most regions and last for about 6 to 8 hours before temperatures start to rise above freezing. Throughout this episode temperatures hovered between 0 to 1° and in some areas 2°. Temperatures are forecasted to climb to plus degree temperatures during the day today (January 17) with rain. The salt service run is being performed to help combat any slippery areas that may arise due to the freezing as well to combat the flurries that are forecasted. All sites were serviced by 4am on January 17, 2023. Please check back to this site for future service level updates.
