Salt Service Run Completion January 2, 2021

Paramount Service teams within Burlington, Oakville, Waterdown and Milton performed a salt service run as of 9am and in Milton by 10am on January 2nd, 2020. Sites within Milton received a plow and salt service whereas the other sites received a full salt service run. Within Burlington, Oakville and Waterdown saw mainly rain throughout the evening of January 1 into the early morning hours of January 2nd, 2020. Milton received a secondary band of snow on top of the rain that happened around 3am on January 2nd which turned a lot of the properties very slick with ice and slush. The salt run was performed on these sites to help prevent any slippery areas from forming while temperatures hovered around 0 degrees for the majority of the night and early morning hours.

Paramount Service teams within Hamilton, Stoney Creek and Grimsby completed a full salt service run within these service areas as of 9am on January 2nd, 2020 with the runs beginning as of 2am. Within these service areas they saw mainly rain that began on January 1st and went into the early morning hours of January 2nd. The salt run was performed to help prevent any slippery areas from forming as the temperatures hovered around the 0 degree mark.

Paramount Service teams in Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge and Brantford began their routes as of 11pm on January 1, 2021. These sites were seeing mainly rain throughout this weather system which turned to snow during the early morning hours of January 2nd. The teams within these service areas were back out this morning to do tidy up with plowing and salting of these sites to help prevent slippery areas as the temperatures were hovering around the 0 degree mark. Service teams within Guelph started their runs as of 2am on January 2nd, 2021 with a full plow and salt run as these areas started off with rain but turned to snow during the early morning hours. Some sites received close to 5cm of snowfall so the clearing and salting was performed to help combat any slippery areas from forming as the temperatures were hovering around the 0 degree mark. Guelph completed their service run as of 8am on January 2nd and Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge and Brantford completed around 2am.

Paramount Service teams within Toronto, Scarborough and Markham started their routes between 3am and 4am on January 2nd, 2021. These sites saw mainly rain that began on January 1 and turned to snow during the early morning hours. Most sites received a full plow run as they had received around 3cm of snowfall which turned to slush and ice so teams plowed these sites before performing a full salt service run. All teams were completed their full routes as of 11am on January 2nd, 2021 and most sites received a tidy up of plow and salt as the temperatures were hovering around the 0 degree mark. This was performed to help combat any slippery areas that may arise.

Paramount Service teams within Mississauga, Brampton and Georgetown started their routes as of 2 and 3am on January 2nd, 2021. Most sites within these service areas were anticipated to receive a salt service run but the teams had to plow the Northern Mississauga, Brampton and Georgetown sites as well salt. These sites received around 3cm of snowfall on top of the rain which turned into a ice / slush mix so the plowing and salting was completed to help combat any slippery areas from arising. Temperatures were hovering around the 0 degree mark throughout this weather episode, servicing was completed around 11am on January 2 and crews were back around to check on sites and do tidy up to ensure there were no slippery areas.

These sites were seeing mainly rain which turned to snow during the early morning hours so they received a full plow and salt run to help combat any slippery areas from forming. Temperatures within these service areas were around the 0 degree mark which turned some areas to ice and slush. This service was completed by 10am on January 2nd and the teams went back through to tidy up and salt areas that may have formed to ice.
