As Operations Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring Paramount’s daily operations run smoothly, with a focus on efficiency, quality control, and team development. You’ll lead a team of skilled professionals, provide strategic direction, and help shape the future of landscaping in Southern Ontario.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations Oversight
- Manage maintenance and construction divisions, ensuring crews are scheduled effectively, jobs are executed on time and within budget, and all materials and equipment are ready to go.
- Supervise daily operations, including truck and trailer preparation, fleet maintenance, and ensuring departure/return schedules are on time.
Team Leadership & HR
- Recruit, onboard, and mentor staff to promote a high-performance team culture.
- Collaborate with HR to handle promotions, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Lead training programs to ensure staff adherence to company policies, safety protocols, and industry standards.
Client & Quality Management
- Conduct site visits, address client inquiries and complaints, and ensure exceptional quality control across all projects.
- Develop and implement quality control protocols to maintain consistency and excellence across all maintenance and construction projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Operational Efficiency
- Ensure seamless workflow execution by identifying operational bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and fostering collaboration between teams to enhance project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Stay ahead of technological innovations such as GPS tracking, scheduling systems, and data-driven solutions.
Strategic Collaboration
- Collaborate with the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to lead the strategic planning process for operational improvements, identifying growth opportunities and implementing innovative solutions that align with the company’s long-term objectives.
- Work closely with the President to manage staffing, fleet and equipment transitions, and seasonal operations planning.
- Facilitate and chair weekly management meetings to set priorities, evaluate progress on key objectives, and address operational challenges proactively.
- Provide actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to senior leadership, supporting decision-making and long-term strategic initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management within the landscaping or construction industry.
- Proven track record in team leadership, including recruiting, training, and mentoring staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Tech-savvy with experience using GPS systems, scheduling software, and other operational tools.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Flexible availability, including early mornings and occasional weekends during peak seasons (e.g., snowstorms).
- Familiarity with snow plowing operations and winter services is a strong asset.

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

- Waterdown, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
