Landscape Construction Manager – Waterdown, ON
Job description
As Team Leader, you are responsible for managing a team 2-4 people while performing the delivery of services. Our clients trust us to provide quality services and you are key in helping us live out our values every day.
You are a proactive leader and self-starter who can interact with the public and our employees. You have a strong work ethic and are able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines. You have experience in landscaping and previous supervisory experience, as well as proven communication skills with supervisors and employees.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage team of 2-4 people while performing services; motivate, coach, and mentor team
- Perform landscape maintenance duties, such as spring/fall clean ups, mowing and trimming, gardening, fertilizing, and pruning. A valid spray license or spraying experience, an asset.
- Operate a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to commercial mowers, blowers, grass trimmers and small machinery
- Someone who is committed to coming into work Monday to Friday 7:00am to finish, no matter what the weather, and where inclement weather dictates, the occasional Saturday
- Ability to work long days, often 12 hours or more during the early season
- Valid driver’s G or minimum G2 license
- Able to drive truck and trailer
Job Requirements:
- Current and unrestricted Driver’s license with a clean record
- Three years experience in this or a related field is required
- Previous leadership experience
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Waterdown, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- Landscape maintenance: 3 years (required)
- Mowing: 3 years (required)
- Basic mechanical knowledge: 3 years (required)
- Operation of Ride-On, Walk Behind and Push Mowers: 3 years (required)
- Driving Truck with Enclosed Trailer: 3 years (required)
- Pruning: 3 years (required)
- Ontario Spray License: 3 years (required)
